Student-interpreters on their appoint

ment will be bound under penalty to serve the Government for

five years.

On the recommendation of the Registrar-

General a student-interpreter may be selected to study

translation. After 3 years at Queen's College he will be

attached to some Department where translation is done,

but will attend at the Registrar-General's Office every

afternoon for two years for the purpose of studing Chinese

and on passing the prescribed examination will be appointed

Third Class Translator.

Pay and qualification of the Three Class

of Interpreters.

Third Class...$560 rising by biennial incrementsof

$60 to $ 540.

of One Chinese Dialect.
